Sustainable Suds: Hand in Hand

I recently stumbled upon this fantastic soap company: Hand in Hand Soap. They are a socially and environmentally responsible company with an inspiring mission: to prevent illness for children that live in impoverished areas of the world. For every bar of soap you buy, Hand in Hand donates a bar of soap to a child. Their first soap donations were to orphanages in Haiti, but the company plans to make drops in Central America, South America, Africa and Southeast Asia. In addition to the “Buy a Bar, Give a Bar” concept, all of the soaps from Hand in Hand are environmentally friendly and fair trade certified. (50 square feet of rainforest is saved with every bar purchased!). Plus, how amazing is their packaging?! I know what I’ll be gifting this year! The soaps are now sold at Anthropologie, so pick up a bar and support this inspiring cause.

Tips and Tricks: Turning your Mason jar into a Travel Mug

This brilliantly designed lid from Cuppow, allows you to turn any wide-mouth mason jar into a travel thermos. Canning jars are the perfect for drinking on the go- they are easy to clean, durable and inexpensive. The only problem was that they didn’t allow for spill-free sipping on the go. Problem solved with Cuppow! This eco-friendly alternative to disposable cups and pricey travel mugs is well made, recyclable and won’t break the bank!
