Behind the Scenes at Alexander McQueen

Filmmaker Sean Frank created this short backstage film that features Sarah Burton and the team at Alexander McQueen preparing for the Spring/Summer 2012 runway show. The collection debuted during Paris Fashion week in October of 2011. This film is truly a piece of art in itself. Enjoy!

Perfect Pair: Stripes and Sequins

I am currently obsessed with pairing sequins and stripes. Both make a chic statement when worn on their own, but together sequins and stripes make a perfect ensemble!

Farewell to Fall!

With the first snow today, it is officially time to say farewell to fall. While I am going to miss the fashion, crisp weather and gorgeous falling leaves..I know winter will bring lots of joy and excitement!

CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Winner: Joseph Altuzarra

Congratulations are in order! Joseph Altuzarra was named this year's winner of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award. Altuzarra exploded onto the fashion scene in 2009. His line was born out of "the desire to provide a contemporary and practical wardrobe for the modern professional woman." The Altuzarra identity combines the legacy of french culture and the energy of New York. After working for Marc Jacobs, Proenza Schouler and Givenchy, Altuzarra finally decided to launch a line of his own. Altuzarra was awarded $300,000 to put toward his growing business. A bright future is ahead for this talented, young designer!

Trend to Try: Capes!

Capes are the perfect alternative to outerwear this season. Either tailored and neutral or bright and dramatic, capes are my cover up of choice. Paired with fitted pants and booties or a printed dress, you can't go wrong donning a cape in the cooler weather.
